YOU GUYS–I can’t believe I’m 20 weeks along today!! On the one hand, it feels like I’ve been pregnant for FOR-ever, and on the other hand it’s going by pretty quickly.
Ever since week ten, we have used a small handheld fetal heart doppler to listen to the heartbeat, and for the longest time, Lilly wasn’t really a fan. But when she went to my most recent OBGYN appointment and heard the heartbeat, her eyes got really big and seemed like she started to understand that there was something in my belly.
And since then, Lilly has started pointing towards my belly and saying “baby”, giving her babydoll lots of kisses and wanting to change its clothes, putting her baby to bed, etc. I’m praying that she will be this sweet when her sibling arrives! 😀
I’m kind of enjoying the whole update every four weeks thing, so I just might keep this up! (You can see my 16-week update here!)
20 week bumpdate:
DUE DATE: October 28TH, 2018
HOW FAR ALONG: 20 weeks
GENDER: We will have our anatomy scan on the 12th, but I am kinda kicking around the idea of having a gender reveal part next Saturday…thoughts??
SICKNESS: Thankfully, most of my nausea has disappeared, but I still have one day a week where I will be nauseous all day and not eat very much.
CRAVINGS: I still prefer cold and crunchy things, and the last couple of weeks I have been craving cheesecake.
AVERSIONS: Beef and I are still on the outs, and as well as anything with a strong smell. I have, however, had tacos with ground beef and did not have a problem. Fish and seafood are fine as long as they do not have a fishy taste.
PHYSICAL CHANGES: Every time I look in the mirror, it seems like my bump has grown! Also, my hair is getting thicker, and I only need to shampoo my hair once a week which is AWESOME.
HOW I FEEL: I feel pretty great, considering I’m pregnant and chasing around a toddler all day! 🙂 I do get very sore and exhausted if I push myself too much (if I’m on my feet all day, house cleaning, etc.), but I am down to only needing a nap once a week (versus needing to every day during the 1st trimester).
HOW I’M SLEEPING: Off and on, I will have good nights and bad nights. Insomnia will make its appearance once or twice a week, some nights I will get a full 7 hours of sleep, and other nights I will toss and turn trying to get comfortable (I can’t sleep on my stomach anymore, Boo!)
MATERNITY CLOTHES: I have been wearing maternity pants since pretty early in the 1st trimester, and now that it’s summer, I’ve been breaking out my non-maternity flow-y dresses! I did break down and order some maternity shorts because I got tired of wearing the same two pairs over and over again. Can’t wait for them to arrive! I ordered this pair of shorts in both the light striped blue and navy blue colors. I also ordered this eyelet pair and this embroidered red pair of shorts, although neither are maternity, but I’m hoping that the stretchy waistband will allow me to wear them comfortably under the bump.
Shop the Post:
Shirt: H&M (also have the t-shirt) | Shorts: J.Crew (old, maternity & non-maternity version here) | Sandals: BP, old, love these | Handbag: J.Crew
Sooo, still not sure if we will have a gender reveal party, or not…M. doesn’t want one but said we could have one if it meant a lot to me ;), and a few of my friends think it’s a good idea. ARGH, I still can’t decided!!! Any advice or thoughts on the gender reveal party??
Stay Classy!
