Hey y’all, Happy Thursday!
Thank you so much for your love and support for yesterday’s post! It meant a lot that it resonated with so many of you, and that a lot of you are in the same stage of life that I am! 🙂
And speaking of life stage—
TODAY’S MY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!!
*cue confetti*
It is so hard for me to believe that I’ve closed the door on my twenties, and am now entering a new decade. I am not exaggerating when I say that I am SO excited to be 30! I spent the majority of my twenties trying to figure out who I was (you can read about that in last year’s bday post),
So for my birthday, I thought I would do something a bit different, and share some things I’ve learned over the last several years. They are in no particular order, and by no means is this list exhaustive! I’m sure I could come up with a LOT more things I’ve learned, but I’ll keep it to just the first 30 things that popped into my head. 😀
Here we go…
30 Things I’ve Learned in 30 Years
- Coffee is your best friend
- You are stronger than you think.
- …and sometimes it’s okay to be weak, and therefore…
- …Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
- Sip a glass of wine while cooking–it makes the simplest dish feel classy. 😀
- Sometimes you just need to buy the shoes.
- My mother was right (about a lot of things!)
- Friends will come and go, and that’s ok.
- God will bring people into your life, if only for a season.
- Your little sister (or brother) can teach you a thing or two.
- My husband has seen me at my worst, my most vulnerable, and my best, and has loved me through all of it.
- Pearls are always acceptable.
- Nursing a baby = feel like a milk cow.
- Cheap shoes are NOT worth it.
- Nursing a baby = most precious thing ever.
- Turning 25 was depressing…turning 30 is exciting!!
- Turning 40, in 10 years, is depressing.
- Finding your tribe is so important, whether it be coworkers, fellow moms, friends, sisters-in-Christ, etc.
- I discovered that I enjoy writing.
- Find a comfy pair of jeans, and buy three pairs.
- God is always in control.
- Be thick-skinned, but not callous.
- GRACE.GRACE.GRACE.
- Forgiveness does not mean a free pass.
- Being a mother is so much more than I thought it would be.
- I never knew I could love such tiny people so much.
- A good mascara is all you need.
- Compassion to everyone; you never know what the other person is going through.
- You can love someone so fiercely and want to squash them, all within the span of 5 seconds.
- Find a go-to recipe, and master it.
Stay Classy!
