It’s crazy to think that Thanksgiving is only ONE week away!! All the food, family, FOOD, putting up the Christmas tree…and more food. 😀 Last year, Lilly was barely a month old when we moved to Cincinnati, and then drove to my hometown for Thanksgiving all in the same day. And then flew to Germany, two weeks later.
Yeah, I don’t remember much from last year, it was all a blur!
This year we actually get to unwind and enjoy the holiday with my family and not have to rush home to finish unpacking boxes. I am so ready to spend a few leisurely days with my family!

Next week, I’ll be sticking with soft, cozy sweaters and jeans for Thanksgiving, and IF I venture out for Black Friday (and that’s a big if), I’ll pull on my over-the-knee boots and top my look with a vest. Seriously, layer, layer, layer is my mode operandi for this tricky time in between fall and winter! In the morning the temps are hovering around freezing, and by the afternoon all one needs is a light sweater (and then back to freezing at night).
I cannot say enough good things about this fair isle sweater that I picked up last week from Abercrombie & Fitch–it’s so soft and cozy, but not too thick that it would be uncomfortable to layer with. It comes in six different colors/patterns, and I plan to add at least one more to my collection. You just can’t say no to a good fair isle!
Abercrombie’s sweater game is on fleek this season (do people still say that?), and when you take advantage of their sales, their prices are great, too. No, I am not being compensated to say that, nor is this post in anyway sponsored by A&F; this is truly my honest opinion! I’ve purchased many sweaters from different retailers, over the years, and J.Crew and H&M have been my favorites for quality, comfort, and (somewhat) decent prices. I would describe A&F’s sweater quality as on-par with J.Crew, and their price point in between that of H&M and J.Crew.
Just this season, alone, I have purchased this sweater in cream stripe, chunky turtleneck in pink, cable knit sweater in light blue, and this coooozy sweater dress fair isle in light grey. All. So. Soft. and I know will last for many seasons to come.
This time next week, I will probably be on my 3rd dinner of the day (just kidding, Thanksgiving dinner is an all-day meal!), and enjoying some much-needed time with my family. So much has happened this past year, and I am really looking forward to spending time with the people I love most.
And enjoying a hot cup of coffee, or two! 😉
Stay Classy!
