Ok, you all, I have a LOT of pink and light blue in my closet. Pink and blue (in whatever variations) are my favorite colors, and probably will always be my favorite colors.

But lately, I’ve been on a bit of a Millennial Pink overload and wanting to branch out a bit. Anyone else feel like pink needs to take a break, or is that just me??

I don’t want to completely abandon my favorite color, because pink will always have a place in my heart.

And Lilly looks too cute in pink.

But I do need to shake things up a bit, and trying out a pretty shade of light purple seems like a great way to do that! It screams “spring” without looking like an Easter egg, and it’s the perfect in-between shade of my favorite colors :D.

Last year, I really wanted to try out the lilac/lavender shade of purple, but there were just not many things offered in these colors. Thanks to Pantone’s Color of the Year being Ultra Violet, purple in various shades are aplenty!

Side note: I am not a fan of Ultra Violet. It reminds me of the grape-flavored cough syrup of my childhood. Just, ew.

But some girls can rock it, and more power to them! I am not one of them.

So I will be playing around with lilac, lavender, and radiant orchid (still my favorite sweater!), and seeing what fun outfits I can come up with. I will try not to go overboard with #allthelilac everything, but it might be hard not to add this sweater and these shoes to my closet!

I’ve gotta give my husband MAJOR hubby points for my Christmas gifts this year–The embellished pumps, pearl bracelet and matching earrings were all from him. The reason he got these, specifically? Because the pearls and crystals in the bracelet and earrings match the brooch on the pumps!
