Hello, lovelies!
My my, Spring has definitely sprung here in the Midwest! The sun has been shining, the flowers have been blooming, and so are my allergies!
This outfit is from Friday, and Fridays for teachers are casual jean days (woohoo!). This is the first time I have worn these emerald jeans, so I kept it really simple and clean. I didn’t want to make TOO big of a fashion statement while teaching, considering I was made fun of the last time I did….But that’s a story for another time.
So here is a simple, classic look that would be great for the both classroom or the office, and easy to do for those of you who are just now breaking in to the colored denim trend.
If you are just venturing into wearing colored denim, than this look would be perfect for you! Colored denim paired with a classic white button up and either a statement necklace or scarf is a great way to ease into the colored denim trend. This trend is probably my MOST favorite! It’s amazing how colored denim instantly transforms a plain button down into a trendy outfit!
A little background on these jeans…
Last summer, when my husband and I visited his family in Germany (SO lucky, I know!!), my mother-in-law was already rocking a pair of green denim, even before the color was in trend. That’s how awesome my mother-in-law is ;). Needless to say, I kept my eye out for the same pair, but no store had them in yet.
Soooo, I waited….and waited…and waited…………..and waited.
Then, Pantone announced Emerald as their Color of the Year, and I was SUPER excited!!
I watched for months until I saw stores begin to get green denim in. Unfortunately, they were stores that were out of my price range :P. And then when they arrived in stores that I could afford, they either didn’t have my size, or they were already sold out!
I finally saw this pair on Forever 21’s website a couple weeks ago, but I was very skeptical. I did not want to settle on a cheap pair because I knew they would become a staple in my wardrobe, but at this point, I was desperate to get my hands on a pair.
I had never bought a pair of pants from F21 because I had always heard that the sizes ran WAY too small, the quality was terrible, or both. But since the price was $15(!!!!!), I said “what the heck!”, and bought a pair.
When the finally arrived a few days later, I literally let out a gasp as I opened the package….OH, MY GOSH, they were the most gorgeous, bright but deep emerald color, I had ever seen! I honestly believe they are prettier than any other brands I have seen. The quality was surprisingly very good, and the price was a STEAL. Needless to say, I have fallen in love with these pants, and if they wear out, I will just purchase another pair!
In reality, these green pants or more of a deep but bright emerald shade rather than a teal or kelly green shade. These pictures really don’t do them any justice!
Stay Classy!

Thanks, Ginny!:)
Mint jeans are really hard to find, and it took me months of searching to finally get a pair last summer. Where all have you looked?
