Happy Weekend, friends!
If you’re like me, then you’ve probably been eyeing quite a few pieces from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but wondering whether or not to pull the trigger. I decided to round up some pieces that I purchased last year from Nordstrom that ended up being staples in my fall and winter wardrobe! Remember when I said I missed out on last year’s sale? Because of that, I ended up paying full-price for these items AND some were on backorder for a few weeks 🙁
So while it might be a good amount of money to shell out in advance for clothes you won’t wear for a couple more months, you will save money in the long-haul AND not have to wait for items to be backordered.
Plus what girl doesn’t love dreaming about her new fall wardrobe? 😉
Ok, let’s talk about these faux leather leggings–I did snag these during the Black Friday sale, but they were one of the items that ended up being backordered for a few weeks, so I really didn’t get to wear them until Christmas time (and they almost didn’t arrive in time for my trip to Germany). I wore them SO much throughout the winter, even wearing them in place of my regular leggings to work!
The cowl-neck sweater is from J.Crew Factory last year, but I’ve added this adorable camel colored one to my shopping bag–cowls-necks are GREAT for keeping warm on chilly fall nights and cold winter days, plus that camel color is great neutral to pair with everything!
I ended up missing out on these booties not only from the Nordstrom Anniversary & Black Friday sale, but for most of the fall and winter season! I eventually purchased them in February from a different retailer but still ended up paying full-price for them. Not only did I pay full price, but I also only got one month of wear out of them because the temperatures started to warm up for spring. These babies are probably the most stylish and snow-friendly pair of boots I own! Here in the Bluegrass, we get plenty of ice, snow, and sub-freezing temperatures so the investment was definitely worth it. I linked to an almost identical pair here, along with a few other cute snow-friendly options above!
These gray ankle booties are a must-have in your closet! Super comfortable, and very versatile, they even go well with denim shorts! I linked to this similar striped t-shirt because it’s tunic length and with being pregnant, I need ALL. THE. TUNICS. I can get my hands on! Other comfy items on my shopping list? Sweater ponchos. Lots and lots of sweater ponchos.
I started wearing this tunic top at the end of summer last year, and it goes REALLY well with denim shorts and wedges! This year’s must-have tunic comes in eleven different colors and the v-neck doesn’t plunge as low as last year’s tunic. Lush came out with a similar non-tunic blouse this year if you are looking for a flowy blouse that’s not quite as long but still looks great half-tucked.
Another favorite wardrobe staple? These Steve Madden over-the-knee boots! As someone who is petite, I absolutely loved the leg-lengthening effect these boots have, and am considering purchasing them in black. Also, this non-heeled pair in merlot has caught my attention…
Also, a navy vest is must-have in anyone’s wardrobe and while mine is from Zara, I still paid more than this similar vest by Ralph Lauren.
So there you have it, some of the most favorite pieces in my fall and winter wardrobe and why you should seriously consider purchasing them now while they are on MAJOR sale. Had I bit the bullet and purchased these items during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I would have save myself over $200…and I would have gotten more wear out of them last year.
If you are still unsure about making a purchase, just remember that Nordstrom has free shipping and returns! If you end up just not loving something, you can return it, no questions asked.
Check out yesterday’s post for some more of my picks from this year’s sale!
Stay Classy!
