I know it’s February and still technically winter, but I just thought you should know that I am in FULL spring mode over here!! I’ve already done a massive closet clean-out (still need to list everything on Poshmark), took note of what needs to be replaced (my beloved Kelly green sweater bit the dust, y’all!), and have already started curating my spring wardrobe.
(Thinking shades of green, pink, and navy for my focus, with pops of lavender and yellow here and there)
You all know I love me some color (and lord knows I’ve gone a bit overboard in the past…oy), but now, I prefer to let one piece of my outfit be the focus and build around that.
Which brings me to this beautiful ruffled gingham and bow-back sweatshirt! *Swoon*, ladies, it’s all of my favorite things wrapped up in a *surprisingly* comfortable shirt–gingham, bows, ruffles, bows, navy, BOWS, sooooft…
…did I mention bows?
Now, I didn’t quite follow my recipe of letting one item being the main focus (I couldn’t resist breaking out my bright pink Kate Spade!), but I did stick with a simple color scheme to keep the outfit from looking busy.
Instead of wearing white denim, which would have broken up the clean line from the sweatshirt to the boots, I went with a light shade of blue. The jeans provided a little contrast, but nothing distracting. 🙂
But when the weather warms up and I can wear something other than boots, I will DEFINITELY be pairing this sweatshirt with some white denim and heels, probably with these hot pink sandals or my favorite wedges!
If you haven’t heard of Elizabeth Wilson Designs, or of the talented young lady who designs and hand-sews the wonderful pieces all on her own, then you have got to check out her shop! The first piece I purchased from her was this beautiful periwinkle gingham ruffled top, a few years back, and I had been really wanting to add another one of her pieces to my closet ever since!
Her pieces are in such high demand, that they frequently sell out within a few hours of being restocked (I was very lucky to snag the last navy sweatshirt in my size).
I highly recommend following Elizabeth on Instagram (@elizabethwilsondesigns), not only to get sneak peeks of upcoming collections, but it’s also the best way to stay informed of restocks and sales.
Like I said, her pieces almost always sell out within hours of release/restocks, so make sure to not only follow but turn on your Instagram notifications, as well!
Stay Classy!
