So it’s Thursday, the 1st of September (what????) and this is the 1st blog post up this week– at least last week I was able to put up two outfit posts (yay!)
Basically I’m learning that no matter your good intentions to make a plan and stick to it, there are so many things that can (will!) happen that are out of my control…And being the Type A person that I am, I hate not being in control.
But that’s a post for another day.
I’ve rounded up some photos from the last couple of weeks that have been sitting on my iPhone, some I’ve already shared on Instagram, some I haven’t, just to give you an idea of what’s been going on lately! 🙂 LOTS of things have been happening, from going to our 1st baby shower with family and close friends, to making lots of changes to the blog behind the scenes, having our maternity pictures taken (can’t wait to share them all with you!!), etc.
IF I make it out of the house (and lately, that’s been a pretty big if!), you can usually find me at one of two of my favorite coffee shops! My favorite coffee shop is Daily Offerings Coffee Roastery, downtown Lexington (picture above). Although it’s a short distance from where I live, trying to find parking is a nightmare and traffic is insane. But it’s worth it for their gluten-free quiche and delicious lattes! Not to mention, the atmosphere is pretty chill. Btw, this Christian Paul watch has been getting some serious wear this last month, and this gray pullover is SUPER comfy! You can see how I styled the navy version here.
Starbucks is my go-to because it’s the closest and (hello!) who doesn’t love earning those stars towards a free drink? I’ve spent so much time here the last couple of years, the baristas know me by name, haha (is that a bad thing??).
We had our maternity photos taken last week!!!! I am so so excited about them, and CANNOT wait to share the rest with you all soon! If you’re in the area or live close by, you all DEFINITELY need to consider having Becky Willard take your photos for you–she does baby announcement, maternity, newborn, family, senior, and wedding photos.
We had our 1st baby shower this past weekend! M and I drove home to Indiana to celebrate with my family and closest friends, and it was such a blessing to spend time with everyone. Baby Girl received quite a few adorable outfits! 😀 My sweet mother and I both had the same idea to wear floral dresses, even though we totally didn’t plan it! I’ll share what I wore later, but you can find my dress here.
Another special detail, the lady who made our wedding cake made this cake for the baby shower! And as a bonus, she made the top layer gluten free, so I was able to have my cake and eat it too (heehee).
How sweet are my husband and nephew?? This picture makes my heart melt because it makes me even more excited to see M. with our baby girl <3<3<3<3. (6 more weeks!!)
Ok, it’s probably pretty dangerous for my wallet that we’re having a little girl, because let’s be honest…Little girl clothing is the CUTEST! I was browsing the new arrivals at J.Crew a couple weeks ago, and I happened to see this sitting on a mannequin and, well, obviously it had to come home with me! My necklace is from a few seasons ago, but J.Crew Factory has a very similar necklace, and the Crewcuts size is here.
I promise next week I’ll be more consistent with blog posts, the last couple of weeks have really thrown me for a loop with lots of things going wrong behind the blogging scene…Moral of the story, no matter how hard you try to carefully plan for things, something (or things) will happen to throw a wrench into it, and you gotta be flexible (and drink lots of coffee)! 🙂 As a bonus, it is a three-day weekend this weekend and with that three-day weekend comes LOTS of sales, so stay tuned!! 😀

LOVE the dress you wore for your shower! I’ll have to check out Daily Offerings, your coffee was just so cute! Just wondering are you teaching this year?
Hi Christine!
Thank you so much! It’s surprisingly very comfortable, and I ended up wearing it all day long, even after the shower had ended. 😀
Daily Offerings is really good, they fresh-press the coffee in front of you, and of course the coffee art is an nice touch.
I am actually not teaching this year, long story short I’ll be staying home with the baby, but hopefully going back next school year! Are you a teacher in the area?
Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo
Thanks for responding! I’m actually a dietitian in Lexington, but I enjoy when you post work outfits. (So few bloggers do) That’s great that you’re going to be able to stay home for a little bit with your baby girl. Enjoy it!!
Neat! What type of environment do you work in, business casual?
