Happy Monday, friends!
I finally get to share with you all some pretty exciting news, and the biggest reason for why I’ve been a little absent from the blog and social media the last month…
We’re Moving!
We are closing the chapter on Cincinnati, and are moving back to Lexington!!!! M. accepted a position as a professor at the University of Kentucky (GO CATS!!), and we are so excited about moving back THIS Friday!
I’ve teased about it on Instagram stories, but we’ve been going back and forth to Lexington almost every weekend since May! We closed on our FIRST HOME in May, and we have been busy getting the house cleaned, and M. has been working on refinishing the basement floor.
The reason why I couldn’t share it on a public space until now is because M.’s employer asked that we wait until they wrap up some projects with clients. I’ve been sitting on this news for quite awhile, and it’s been so hard not to slip and tell you all!!
Saying Goodbye to Cincinnati
When we first moved to Cincinnati back in November of 2016, I was barely one month postpartum with Lilly, and I was devastated. Lexington was the first place we lived, shortly after getting married, and having lived there for almost six years, it had become our home. We didn’t know if our move to Cincinnati would be permanent, and we went knowing that it might very well be. We knew no one when we moved, the house we were renting was right off a major road with no sidewalks for us to get out and walk, and it was just starting to get cold and dark outside.
Those first few months in Cincinnati were some of the darkest months, for me, being a new mom and being completely uprooted from our support system and friends. In our hearts, we had been praying that God would open the doors for us to be able to go back to Lexington and settle down permanently, but at the same time, we prayed that if this was to be permanent, that we would get settled and connected quickly.
And we did! Lilly and I would pack up the car and drive around, exploring the different parts of Cincinnati, and got very familiar with Kenwood Mall (where we had our first public diaper blowout…sorry, TMI!).
Preeti and I met in real-life and quickly became friends (we had been Instagram friends for years!), M. and I got connected to a PCA church just two minutes down the road from our house and became friends with a wonderful group of couples around our age who also had children close to Lilly’s age. I got really close with a couple of ladies who both have girls that are Lilly’s age, and they ended up being my LIFELINE. We would have impromptu trips to the park, coffee and playdates at our houses, trips to Target, and Moms’ Nights Out with just us and a glass of wine! 😀
God brought us community right when we needed it, and thinking about that blessing of friends we made makes me tear up. It was very unexpected, especially for me, getting connected like we did and making friendships that I know will last. It’s been very hard to say goodbye! Shop the Post

Moving Back Home
Even though it’s been hard closing the chapter on Cincinnati, moving back to Lexington really feels like moving back home. Our new house is in the same part of town we lived in before moving to Cincinnati, our friends live within a ten minute drive of us, and our house is in our dream neighborhood (I’m still pinching myself over that last one)!
AND, just like when we moved to Cincinnati, we have hired the same movers to box up our entire house, move us into our new home, and unpack everything! Other than cleaning and organizing, I will not have to lift a finger when it comes to packing and unpacking, which is a BIG DEAL with being almost 25 weeks pregnant and taking care of Lilly. So for the last month and a half, we have been staying at our new house on the weekends (sleeping on an air mattress!) and deep cleaning the house, and other projects.
Lilly has been quite the trooper, traveling in the car every weekend, sleeping in her pack-n-play in her new bedroom, and exploring her new backyard. M. and I have done a handful of things to help make the transition to a new house easy for; she seems just as excited about the new house as we are!
PHEW, so that’s been our lives, this summer, and we are more than ready for this transition to be over–just a few more days!! I’ve got posts lined up for this week surrounding the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale going live on Thursday. You can find everything you need to know on the main Nordstrom Sale page at the top of the blog! Be sure to follow along on Instagram for all the moving madness on Friday and Saturday. 😀 I cannot wait to share our new home with you all. <3
