You all, I cannot even begin to describe how much fun we had during our maternity photo session! You remember my talking about Becky Willard in my birth announcement post, and you’ve seen some of her work on the blog over the last few outfit posts, but I just have to say it again–this girl is so much fun to work!! She is super sweet, and not to mention she made M. and I feel completely at ease during our session. Not to mention, her work is gorgeous!!
For our maternity photos, I wanted to go with a simple color scheme of white and pink, and this lace maxi from SheIn was perfect! I knew it would more than likely be hot and humid, so I needed something light and breezy to keep me from being a sweaty mess. 🙂
And how precious is that monogrammed bow sash??? It’s actually meant to be a swaddle for a newborn, so I got Baby Girl’s monogram stitched on it–She’s going to look so sweet wrapped in it!!
For those of you who aren’t really interested in pregnancy-related posts, that is completely fine with me and I understand. 🙂 I write these posts because I like reading about other women’s experiences, and I like sharing my crazy/funny/scary experiences with you!
36 Week Bumpdate
Due date: 4 more weeks!!!
How far along: 36 weeks, a.k.a 9 months preggo
Baby movement:
These last few weeks, Baby Girl’s movements have not been quite as frequent because she’s wunning out of womb (couldn’t resist). When she does move, she likes to squirm, attempt to stretch out, stick out her elbows/knees/fists in all directions…you name it :D. My belly looks like I have an alien squirming around inside. An alien that has taken up every inch of usable space in my torso.
Aaand, Baby Girl likes to pop up and down into my pelvis, and it feels like a huge sack of flour is being dropped into my lap. And it makes me waddle. More.
Cravings:
Still wanting cold fruit, and lately, apples. When the PSL returned (Pumpkin Spice Latte for those not in the know), I switched to the chai latte and now I’m craving it every single day!
Apple cider mimosas—I know, sound amazing, right?? I stumbled upon the recipe while on Pinterest, and I’ve already decided it’s the first cocktail I’m making right after she’s born….Actually, I might sneak a mini bottle of champs into my hospital bag…does that make me bad??
Aversions:
Anything greasy. Just, ew.
How I feel:
I have days where I am organizing and cleaning like a mad woman, and days where I can barely make it off the couch. My day usually involves cleaning for twenty minutes, couch and Netflix for thirty. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. It’s a slowww process getting anything done, and I feel like I’m making more messes than cleaning up, but I am making progress. There’s still so much to do, and I’m starting to freak out that I won’t get everything done!! AHHHHH!!
And I am now rockin’ the preggo-swag. Oh yeah. Waddle to the bathroom. Waddle to the couch. Waddle to the kitchen. Waddle to bed. Waddle, waddle, quack quack.
Hubby and I grabbed ice cream and took a (short) walk around our neighborhood on Friday. The weather was nice, there was a breeze–it felt so good to get outside! I, however, barely made it around the block. We had to stop twice, in order for me to catch my breath! I’m sure I looked quite funny, a preggo woman waddling walking around with ice cream and huffing and puffing at the same time :D. It’s not that I’m terribly out of shape, I literally don’t have room to breathe. I feel like a total wimp, you all!
Maternity clothes:
Oversized non-maternity shirts (surprised that I can still fit into my normal size in this button down!!), I finally bought a pair of maternity leggings, and they are SUPER comfy!! Most days it’s too frustrating to get dressed in real clothes because it’s too hot for pullovers, and my summer clothes either do not fit or I’m sick of wearing them. 😛 (is it fall, yet??)
How I’m sleeping:
Another reason I haven’t made it out of the house much–I’ve been “sleeping in” until 10, but really, the only time I actually sleep is between 6-10am. The rest of the night, I’m getting up every two and a half hours to pee, heartburn, itchy skin, Baby Girl partying, and I’m just plain uncomfortable. Oh, and did I mention insomnia? I’m going to be SO used to waking up every two hours, it’ll be a piece of cake when she gets here. 😀
On the one hand, I cannot believe how quickly my pregnancy has gone by! I’ve started seeing the doctor on a weekly basis, next week Baby Girl will be considered full-term, and really, she could come at any time! On the other hand, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for forever, and I am just anxious for our baby to be here already. I cannot tell you how much M. and I are looking forward to having her in our arms, snuggles, bath time, you name it!
And if I’m totally honest, I cannot wait to be able to sleep on my back and stomach again…GOSH, I miss those days!!
Now excuse me while I go get another chai latte :D.
