Happy Monday, lovelies!
The weekend went by a little faster than I would have liked, aaaand was a little less productive than I would have liked. I don’t know about you, but something about it being summer makes me want to just lounge around all day and not want to do chores. I did clean the house, but I had a lot more than just chores on my list. And it has been rainy. I took these pictures this morning in the rain. My sweet hubby is amazing!
SO, back to my musings:
1) I am going to sit down and make myself a very detailed, structured schedule. I made these in college, every semester, and I actually thrived! For some reason , if I have a highly structured environment (yeah, I’m one of those kids), I am able to work, workout, do chores, have a quiet time, AND still have free time. When I don’t have a set schedule (cough cough, substitute teaching), I am literally thrown into chaos and have no idea what to do or where to begin. Blame it on ADHD (I swear I have it!!). I will start a task, and “ooh, blog comments!” so I will start replying back to them and “OMG, THERE’S A J.CREW SALE THAT I SHOULDN’T BE LOOKING AT”, and “oops, gotta go put another load of laundry in…..”EEK!! Just kidding, there’s a giant spider sitting on top of the washer!!”. You get the idea. I literally have the attention span and memory of a goldfish who forgot to take her Ritalin. You know how it is. Life. 🙂
2) I am currently obsessed with anything that is leopard print. Anything. Like, I see a maxi dress or this clutch and I start salivating. You’re welcome, by the way. 🙂
3) It has been 5 weeks, 6 days, 3 hours, and 2 minutes since the Closet Remix Challenge began, and the natives are getting restless (read: INSANE).
Exhibit A Exhibit B
4) Why is nautical print anything so appealing?? What makes it hook our attention and sink us into the depths of obsession? Oh yeah. Puns intended 😀 This is what I wore yesterday to church. Exhibit A of my nautical obsession. Dress, sandals, and belt are from Target.
Exhibit B is this dress that I on Tumblr of all places, and needless to say, I am hooked. Sorry, I’ll stop. =] I spent the better half of my Saturday afternoon searching the internet for this fabric, which I finally found, so now I am waiting to order it and I will be making this for my first sewing project!! Btw, I did find the boutique that makes this dress, and it’s a leetle expensive…$298, to be exact!
Alright, I’ll spare you the rest of my musings and head straight into the outfit I picked out…
I’m kinda into the whole half-tucked look now! It dresses down an otherwise very preppy, dressed up outfit, perfect for just hanging out with friends. Don’t get me wrong, I have fully embraced my preppy side (guilty as charged!) but sometimes the mood calls for a little bit of dressing down.

Have a wonderful week, lovelies!

I love the Monday Musings. My weekend went about as productively as yours. This look is just too cute. I like the half tuck. Oh, and I too am obsessed with leopard. Great minds think alike. I'll email you about guesting in the AM. 🙂

PS- I didn't know you were/are a sub! I'm almost done with my teaching credential here in California. If they aren't hiring when I finish (going to teach high school English, preferably GATE and AP classes) I may end up as a sub next Spring!
Loving the pink, blue & yellow together – so fun! And that sea horse print is the CUTEST 🙂
