Pattern Play: Stripes, Gingham, and Tweed and Winning a Giveaway!!

Happy (almost) Friday, lovelies!
This week has been pretty busy for me, filling out (endless) applications for teaching jobs, looking for non-teaching jobs in case those jobs do not work out for next year, trying to decide on details for my new blog design (yaay!), keeping up with bloggy stuff, you know, the usual 🙂

My hubby said something ornery so I was giving him my “really?” look, heehee.

I wish I could take credit for this outfit inspiration, but I got the idea of layering patterned shirts from Jade of A Spoonful of Style. I love how she layered the different colored gingham shirts, such a fun way to mix colors. I wanted to try it out, but decided I wanted to take it a step further and mix patterns as well as colors (actually, I only have three colors of gingham and didn’t want to repeat the same color combo in the same week, teehee).

I am absolutely in love with this tweed skirt!! J.Crew has a similar one, but sadly does not fit in my budget, but then I saw a girl on Instagram (gotta love the inspiration!) wearing this cute pink one from Target. TARGET! It is wonderful quality, separate lining, and a nice, solid, woven tweed material. And since it’s PINK, it instantly adds a fun pop of color to your work wardrobe while still looking professional I am totally advocating for you to buy this skirt. Seriously, you WON’T regret it!
If you are new to tweed, it’s a pretty versatile fabric to play with. Colored tweed is even more fun to experiment with because you have so many different colors of threads that you can choose practically any color to pair it with. Or in this case, multiple colors!

On a random note, I won my first ever giveaway yesterday!!!! Pink Pineapple Shop was hosting a giveaway on their Instagram account @pinkpineappleshop for a $50 gift certificate to their store, and to enter, you had to repost the picture and tag them in it. Well, I have been following their store on IG for quite some time (and crushing on quite a few pieces on their website!!), and I thought I’d repost and see what happens. Mind you, I have entered SO many giveaways in my time and have not won anything. And then yesterday at noon I get a tag from them announcing me as the winner!!!! I danced around like a kid who’s been told he can have candy before dinner time. You remember that I am on a spending ban, right? My closet remix challenge that is for 90 days??

Well, here’s my dilemma…Technically, I wouldn’t be spending any of my own mullah by using this gift certificate….Buuut, would it be breaking my closet remix challenge?? What to do, what to do?!!
