Hey everyone!
Well, it’s been a long time coming (four weeks, in fact!) but the new blog design is finished! I had been kicking around the idea of giving Classy Sassy a facelift for quite awhile, and finally decided to “just do it”.
It was certainly a labor of love, and took way longer than what I expected it to–I had to stop and start a few times, and take a week off when Lilly was sick, BUT it’s finally done!
So take a look around! If you see anything that still looks a bit wonky, or if a few features are buggy, please let me know–I am not a website coder, and even though I purchased a pre-made template, I am sure I missed some things here and there while setting it up. 🙂
OK, now on to today’s post—You’ve already seen this jacket pop up on Instagram, and ladies, I have been DYING for fall to get here!! Over the last week, or two, it has been cooler in the mornings and will warm up as the day goes on. So I’ve been quite happy about having to throw on a jacket or cardigan and grab HOT coffee as Lilly and I run around the town. 😀
I know, I know, every blogger and their mother is talking about how to transition your summer wardrobe to fall, but it’s for good reason! Many of my friends have also voiced how ready they are for cooler temperatures, but late summer and early fall can be very unpredictable—you can go from having frost on your car in the mornings to wearing a t-shirt and shorts by the afternoon.
Enter this dark olive field jacket–when I first tried it on in the J.Crew Factory dressing room, it actually looked more dark slate rather than dark olive. I couldn’t believe how well it fit! It’s very a feminine looking jacket, which isn’t always the case with field jackets (and probably why I hadn’t purchased one until now), and the brass hardware really makes this jacket top-notch!
The J.Crew Factory stylist that rang me up at the checkout counter had paired her olive jacket with a bright coral tank top, and I HAD to recreate her look!
To be honest, I couldn’t quite get on the dark green + blush pink train, but the stylist’s outfit convinced me to try it out with the more vibrant coral.
I’m hooked.
The jacket also looks great with jeans and a striped tee–pretty basic and laid-back, a.k.a my go-to outfit since having Lilly.
You probably noticed that I linked to the J.Crew retail version of this jacket, and that’s because the Factory website has a different version of the jacket listed, so I highly encourage you to visit (or call) a Factory store to purchase one.
If you don’t live close enough to a J.Crew Factory store, you can call any store and they will ship to you!
Speaking of J.Crew Factory, have you checked them out recently?? They’ve been KILLING it (and my wallet) with their new arrivals!! I also picked up this forest green skirt, these army green skinny jeans (styled here)….I’m sensing a pattern :D.
Burgundy has, and always will be my favorite fall color, but dark green is quickly becoming a favorite, as well!
To celebrate launching the new blog design, I wanted to team up with some fellow blogger friends to give you all a chance to kick off your pre-fall shopping!
One lucky reader will win a $700 gift card to Target.

Love this jacket — it’s definitely on my list for fall! I love pairing turquoise with olive green during the summer to fall period!
