Happy Wednesday and Happy FALL, y’all!
I still can’t believe I typed that last sentence, it is officially fall!! And surprisingly, we have even had a bit of autumn-like weather the last few days. Quite a bit of rain, but if you saw my Instagram stories, you know that we haven’t let that stop us from getting out and exploring the woods behind our house. Gotta love these rain pants and boots for Lilly!
As I get closer and closer to my due date (about a month to go!), getting dressed without looking like a potato sack is becoming increasingly more difficult! You all know my go-to fall uniform is some variation of the button down + pullover/vest + jeans formula, but with being almost 36 weeks pregnant, very few of my button downs fit anymore. I’ve been hanging on to my popovers (blouses that either have zero buttons, or buttons only on the top third of the shirt), and these fine-knit pullovers (non-maternity) have been my go-to! Seriously, I cannot sing enough praises 🙌🏻 of these lightweight pullovers from H&M, I wear them all seasons, and they have held up surprisingly well over the years–they are rather thin, but it’s perfect if you want the look of layering without sweating it out in a thick sweater.
Thankfully, this bow-tie blouse still fits (another closet staple), and pairing it with my olive skinny jeans, vest, and riding boots made me feel more like my non-pregnant preppy self. 😁 Don’t get me wrong, I love the cute form-fitting maternity shirts and dresses that show off the bump, but more recently, I am longing more and more for my regular clothes! My mother-in-law was right when she said that I would be so sick of my maternity clothes by the end of my pregnancy! 😂
I have been getting my preppy fall fashion fix by shopping for fall clothes for Lilly…If you can’t wear it yourself, you can always put it on your daughter, amiright? 😀 Speaking of Lilly’s fall clothes, you all seemed pretty interested in what she’s been wearing, lately–perhaps I should put together a post on her fall wardrobe?
Shop the Post:
Bow blouse: Loft (old), similar here, here, & here | Vest: Esprit (old), similar here | Olive denim: H&M (maternity); my favorite non-maternity pair here | Riding boots: Tory Burch (this year’s version)
Stay Classy!
