Happy Weekend, lovelies!!
It is that time of the week, again, (hopefully) when everyone winds down from the work week and can relax just a little bit before starting another week. I have been doing a fall cleaning in my closet (there is spring cleaning, why not there be a fall?) in hopes that I can have more space and only have what I actually wear on a consistent basis. After the first purging of my closet and then my subsequent closet remix challenge, I discovered that I still had a lot left in my closet that I just don’t wear…like, ever. And that some of the things don’t fit anymore (I am actually smaller than what I was in high school!), so it is definitely time to get rid of the last remaining things.
If you’re on Poshmark, I posted a few things in my “closet” to sell, so go check it out! My username is @simplywhit. What is Poshmark, you may ask? It is this awesome website where ladies can buy and sell articles of clothing, shoes, accessories, etc. buy shopping a user’s “closet”. You keep 80% of the selling price (Poshmark does make 20% off of each listing), and the buyer pays for shipping. The great thing about it is that when you purchase an item, your money is not given to the seller until after you have received and are satisfied with your purchase. No messy returns, customer satisfaction is key. It’s basically eBay turned into a really nice boutique. I can’t tell you how many amazing deals I have seen on there! If you’re looking for an item that was sold out in stores, try Poshmark before you try eBay or Amazon.
If you want to just shop and not post anything to sell, that is fine. You create a profile when you sign up, with your sizing information in shirts, sweaters, pants, shoes, skirts, etc., and then your search results are customized based on that information. AND the best part about it? Completely free. No annoynig emails. I would recommend downloading the app to your iPhone or iPad because it is easier to use than a web browser (shocking, an app is more user-friendly than the web version??). And it’s free.
OK, I am finished with my sales pitch, time to show you my rather fab outfit from an impromptu date with the hubbins. 🙂
Last night we attended the Thursday Night Live festivities downtown, and since this was our first time attending this year AND we don’t go out very much, I knew I wanted to dress up in something fun for the evening. I bought this dress at H&M in Germany, and let’s just say it is probably my most favorite dress in my closet! It is UBER flattering, hugging all the right areas and slimming the areas I am uncomfortable with, and it is not revealing. Basically it is understated sexy without being in your face! As a young married woman, I have kind of gotten past wanting to wear tight fitting outfits for date not and am opting for more of a classy “sexy” outfit. The one that is not revealing, but it makes you feel attractive because it flatters your body.
I am a petite person, but my hips and thighs are a little wider than other petite girls my height, so I try to steer clear of clothing that will draw attention to those areas. This dress does just that. I am seriously wishing that H&M made this dress in ten different colors because I would most certainly be buying every single one of them!
Actually, you’re probably looking more at my neon heels right now, aren’t you?? Haha, I figured they would snag your attention first. Actually, that was the whole point of this outfit! I wanted my shoes to be the highlight (no pun intended) of the ensemble, so I went with a flattering but non-attention grabbing dress to compliment the shoes. Let’s just say the shoes grabbed quite a bit of attention while we were downtown.
We parked in a parking garage across the street from the pavilion where all of the music, drinks, food, and people were localized, and no joke, people were staring at my shoes from the other side of the street! Pretty hard to miss them against the fresh blacktop! Let’s just say I did not intend nor expect to grab that much attention with my footwear. Were the reactions all positive? Of course not! Did I care? Heck no, I proudly wore my neon highlighter yellow shoes. I had a happy glow on (or maybe that was just my shoes) because I think my shoes are ‘da BOMB. I did have a lady come up to me asking to take a picture with me because she had on matching neon yellow tennis shoes. I happily said yes :D, sadly I do not have that picture.
Lovely Whit! This dress is so flattering on you and looks beautiful with your blond locks!!

Oh, I love this outfit. Is it terribly awkward for me to ask what size dress you bought? We look really close in size/shape and I'd love to order this dress. But, I am always afraid of H%M's sizing and being hundreds of miles away from the closest store, I will have to stick to guessing on the correct size. You can ignore if this is totally rude. 🙂

Not at all awkward, I'm glad you asked! H&M does have weird sizing in that they actually run on "true" size. I bought a size 4, which in most stores would actually be a size 2 or 0. One thing I've come to realize is that you have to ignore the number and just go with the fit :).
Glad you to help out, and I hope you like the dress!
