Ruffled Gingham Skirt
Coming at you with the second edition of Workwear Wednesday, and it’s a colorful one (click here to see last week’s Workwear Wednesday). I am a huge fan of color, and being a rather preppy gal, gingham is definitely a staple in my closet! When I saw this skirt online, a few weeks ago, I knew I had to have it! When I was an elementary music teacher, I loved shopping for classic pieces with trendy details like bold prints, or ruffles–these pieces kept my work wardrobe fresh and interesting!
The great thing about this skirt is that it can be worn both in the office and out to drink with friends. For today’s post, I paired it with a flowy white blouse (also looks great with a crisp button down!) and pink sandals to match the skirt. For a great night-out look, switch to a less formal top like a racerback tank in a pretty shade of pink, and top it off with a denim jacket. Pretty easy, right?
Sizing info for the skirt; I am between a 0 and a 2 in J.Crew pencil skirts, and the 0 fit comfortably, even with my growing bump.
And speaking of pink sandals–my favorite pair is currently on sale for over 50%, making them under $60! Besides purchasing this skirt, I would say that these pair of heels are a must in your summer wardrobe! Surprisingly comfortable, and the provide such a fun pop of color!

Here are some other colorful skirts and dresses I am currently crushing on! Lots of fun prints, trendy details like scallops and ruffles, and of course, lots of color. 🙂
Can you think of other ways you would style this summery skirt?
Stay Classy!

I think this would be so cute paired with a Chambray Shirt! Is there any give in the hips if you’re curvy on the bottom??
Ooo, I love the chambray shirt idea! Maybe tied at the waist, instead of tucked?
Unfortunately, there isn’t much give in the hips. If you can try it on in the store, I would recommend it! I normally get a size 2 in pencil skirts and the 0 fit me just Fine (my hips are a lot wider than my waist 😉).
