Ladies, I am SO excited to share these photos with you…First of all, I had a BLAST working with the incredibly talented Lindsey Hansen, and second of all, my sweet husband was SUCH a trooper during our photo session! Remember when I talked about the subzero temperatures a couple weeks back? Well, guess what we did….
That’s right, we took pictures outside in the -18 degree windchill.
And as you can see, M is not wearing a coat!
You’re probably thinking we’re nuts, and I guess we were just a little bit, but when you are determined to have pictures taken in the snow (and cross off #30 on your 101 Things in 1001 Days list), you work with what you get!
Actually, the whole session for this outfit took a grand total of five minutes. We ran outside from one of the buildings, M took his coat off, ran down to the swing, jumped up and down to keep warm while Lindsey set the camera settings, posed for two minutes, threw coat back on, and ran back into the building.
And we did that for each outfit session, warm up, run outside, throw coats off, jumping jacks, pose, run inside, repeat.
But yet again, our region has been blasted with another “Arctic vortex”, and snow and ice are pretty much staples :P. So this outfit has pretty much been my uniform this entire week! Any time I venture out, the boots come on, and the blanket scarf goes on. Seriously, I’m not quite sure if I would have survived the winter without my blanket scarf, I’ve worn it so many times that the price per wear is ridiculously low, and I curl up with it as a literal blanket inside my apartment!
I guess I don’t need to tell you how amazing this scarf is, most of you probably use yours like crazy! If you were not lucky enough to snag the highly coveted Zara blanket scarf (PLEASE don’t even bother with eBay or Poshmark, them peeps be all cray), I highly recommend this fabulous Etsy shop called The Providence Story. I own three (yes three) of her blanket scarves, and they are so warm and soft! They aren’t as wide as the Zara scarf, so there is no need to fold them in half, which means they are not as big and bulky (and don’t make your hair stick out all weird in the back). You can see a few of favorite ways I styled her scarves here, here, and here.
Happy weekend, lovelies,
